RE: New Recruit

Well, Richard, it took ages but the per diem finally paid off; found that prospective I was talking about awhile back. Here's the vital stats and other things, for your information:

NAME: Calvert, Adelaide Marie (usually goes by 'Addie')
DOB: 07 June 1996
HEIGHT: 5'11"
WEIGHT: 135 lbs
HAIR: Red
EYES: Hazel
LOCATION: Dallas, TX, USA

For the record ... Dallas is where I finally tracked her to, but reports say that she got her 'call to arms', as it were, in a small town called Ransom Canyon, a ways east of Lubbock. A few worrisome reports that the 'Baptist' zealots running amok in that little town were actually affiliated with Morninglight. Either way, the town had issues with the girl in general - she's barely in the system at all but the buzz said something about them thinking she was possessed by something (which, depending on your definition of the bees, may turn out to be right, but never mind). Got kicked out of her school two weeks in, no medical records, that sort of thing. The start of what I hear your boy in Archives calls 'bee overload' was the last straw, they were trying one of those ludicrous torture deals they call 'exorcism' and ... well. See below:

[INSET: newspaper article from a Lubbock paper regarding a fire that started in the Ransom Canyon local church but spread to the entire town. Essentially everyone in the one-stoplight town was killed, according to the article.]

Thing is, Illuminati had an interest before this one even made the jump. That buzz I was talking about tipped us to that this one was a little 'unusual' long before the 'call to arms'. Sparks, small fires ... theory was geniune bona fide pyrokinetic even before the bee. Hence the town thinking she was some kind of evil spirit; the flame-red hair, the high-burn metabolism, everything about her shouting 'fire' and the strange happenings? Illuminati'd been watching her for awhile but lost track of her in the fire. Guess there are perks to trusting the buzzing more than the conspiracy route; they had to wait for the proof of the whole 'resurrection by bee' to happen before they moved, and by then she'd hidden in Dallas. I don't know if Morninglight wanted to kill or recruit her, but thankfully Gaia pointed a bee at her first. I didn't ask her about the Ransom Canyon issue but I bet the person who does will get a tale of fairly epic abuse-by-cultist. Tell you this much; it's not going to be me. I like my dessert and some of my drinks on flambee but that doesn't apply to my hair, clothes or face.

Which brings me to the personal evaluation. Girl's on a hair trigger; fight or flight in overdrive. Usually it's 'fight' - she seems to favour the shotgun but has an affinity for anything gun-like. I figure that's a Texas stereotype that happens to bear out in her case. Seems the fire affinity stuck around in her case too; her other main skill's with elementalism, largely fire and electricity. Beyond that, she comes across a lot more stupid than she is - she's uneducated to terrifying extremes and her accent makes her sound like the biggest hick in Hicksville, but she's fairly canny in a survivor's street-smarts kind of way and very quick on the uptake with the ability to think on her feet. She's not the most socially adept person in the world, but she'll calm down with the right mentorship. She'll never be a holy warrior - mention religion around her and she will curl up in a corner and quietly freak out at minimum, and she'll probably light you up if you keep pushing the issue - but she's at least got the 'warrior' part down.

Recommendations: Pair her off with someone field-experienced, kind but firm and above all, patient. Preferably someone who doesn't blink twice at the weird; she'll soak it in quicker that way. It'd also be helpful if whoever mentors her has some ties with the other factions, seeing as how we know the Illuminati had an interest at the start and if they still have designs, better to know sooner than later. I'd recommend Chris 'Fableweaver' White; he seems to handle these things well enough and he hangs around with that chatterboxy Illuminatus weirdo you've had him shadowing. Might as well get some use out of him being in the field.

Let her near Innsmouth Academy without supervision at your own risk. I get the feeling if they talked her into staying, she'd be harder to pry out of there than Carter.

She's staying at the King in Yellow B&B for the time being; she'll probably need help finding a flat.

Recommended callsign: 'Wildfyr'.

Regards,

Fabrizia

[Handwritten note at the bottom of Chris' copy:

Sorry, 'Weaver; this probably got to you a bit late, but I'm sure you two got along famously. Ciao!
